Gurmukh Singh OBE ACIS, MCMI

Gurmukh Singh is a Retired Principal Civil Servant and was recently awarded an OBE in 2015. He has held many high profile positions including departmental representation at European forums and the World Trade Organisation (ex-GATT). He retired in June 1996 from the Aerospace Division of the Department of Trade and Industry

He supports and advises many nationwide charitable organizations serving the community in religious education, heritage and welfare areas. He has played a significant catalytic role in keeping UK Sikh affairs on an even keel, while promoting transparency in Sikh-Government interface. He is well respected in the Sikh diaspora for interpreting Sikh ideology in terms of 21st Century issues. He writes the lead column “News & Views” in UK’s Panjab Times.

Gurmukh Singh is serving by invitation as Member of the Board of Jathedar, Sikh Council UK. He is the Convener of The Sikh Missionary Society UK Advisory Board and also a key contributor to the Sikh Manifesto.
