
Cllr Chaz Singh
Chaz is an active grassroots campaigner and became Plymouths first ever elected Sikh councillor. The former Deputy Lord Mayor 2012-13 and was the Labour Parliamentary Candidate for the General Election in 2015.
He has worked with Prisons, schools, local community groups and businesses, where Chaz provides individually tailored educational programmes which promote racial harmony and positive community cohesion.
He is also the organiser of the largest St George’s day celebrations in the Southwest in Plymouth raising money for local charities. Previously a successful retail manager Chaz has been able to apply and share his knowledge within the wider community. His approach is innovative and he is passionate about education whilst maintaining his Sikh identity and values. He is probably the most recognised and visible Sikh in the South West with an ambition to become the first Turban wearing Sikh MP in the country in 2020
